Why did you decide to become freelance?
I took an opportunity to get into freelancing, when I came back from a trip to Australia. Following this experience, I took a liking to freelancing and quite naturally I continued!
What do you enjoy about your freelance life?
I can say without any embarrassment: the financial aspect and the freedom that it brings. Ever since I started as a freelancer, I’ve never looked back. Nothing beats the flexibility of this lifestyle: having the ability to choose an assignment is a luxury that only freelancing allows. This reduces frustration and frees up time for what really matters. The magic recipe to flourish in your daily job!
Do you think you are more effective at work as a freelancer?
The fact of being the decider in the choice of my missions brings me a motivation and a dynamism that I just wouldn’t have as an employee, where everything would be imposed on me, that's for sure. Being able to manage my own time also helps me organize myself better to be even more efficient on a daily basis.
What are you doing to stay competitive within the talent ecosystem?
Well I'm not a good example (laughs).
Personally, I use my free time to devote myself to my family life and enjoy my loved ones. But again, that's one of the best things about freelancing: you have options. The choice of having time and the possibility of investing it as we see fit. A reality that is probably less true for salaried workers.
