What do you like about your freelance life?
I manage my time as I wish! If tomorrow I want to take a month's vacation, I can! If I want to work for two clients at the same time, that's possible too! I am also the one who manages my clients directly: there is no intermediary for a sales person like in IT services companies or ESNs. This simplifies communication and greatly reduces the risk of misunderstanding.
How do you work more effectively as a freelancer?
It may sound silly, but knowing that I am working primarily for myself, and on a project that I have chosen myself, it motivates me enormously!
What are you doing to stay competitive among freelancers? (example: self-training)
Regularly, I train and monitor technology. Right now, for example, I'm starting to take an interest in SvelteJS and I'm starting to make mini-games in React to master this library. I also teach at a private school, EEMI, which forces me to constantly review things in order to provide good quality lessons and homework. Training other people is, in many ways, very formative for oneself!
Do you have side projects or other activities in parallel?
I am currently working on a small, unpretentious bookstore, FleuveJS. I also develop mini-games (in Angular and React for the moment). For other activities, like I said, I teach EEMI!
If so, how do they complement your freelance work?
All these small projects and my activity as a speaker allow me to discover new things, and to learn a little more every day!

What do you like about Comet?
Comet manages all the administrative and accounting side, which means a lot less work. In addition, I know that doing an assignment with Comet is doing an assignment with a reliable client! There is also a strong community behind: Slack is a big plus to be able to chat with other freelancers or Comet staff. When I work with Comet, I know that I am not a simple resource, but indeed a collaborator: Comet does not just cash its check, but monitors projects throughout their duration.
What are your advantages with Comet?
Billing, community, administration, advice and follow-up!
How does Comet help you thrive in your work and in your life?
Comet offers me quality assignments, where the terms are unambiguous (teleworking or not, what ADR, duration of the assignment, renewal or not), and where the relationship with the client is healthy.
